LOCATION: BUILDING UPON AGRICULTURAL HERITAGE

Located in Spalding, Lincolnshire, one of the three key UK geographical areas associated with fresh produce, Melon&Co benefits from its proximity to the multiple chilled storage and distribution options on offer, allowing goods to be delivered nationwide on an overnight basis.  In addition, Spalding also hosts a comprehensive range of complimentary ancillary services: training; labour provision; mechanical handling equipment; packaging & industry-specific support forums.

MINIMISING WASTE: MARKETING THE WHOLE CROP

The key function of Melon&Co is to market the entire production output and minimise waste. Not only does this adhere to our core environmental principles but also matching customer with appropriate product ensures commercial sustainability and cost efficiency.  A customer base, comprised of retail, processing, foodservice & wholesale channels makes this possible.

DIFFERENTIATION THROUGH SERVICE EXCELLENCE

Melon&Co offer a robust, year-round, 52 week supply calendar of both melon & mango. Particular focus is given to the “shoulders of the season” thereby ensuring seamless, planned transition, which in turn maximises availability and optimises service performance.
Melon&Co pride themselves on exceeding expected technical compliance. It remains our core strategy to be at the forefront of industry improvement to both operating standards & practices.

ROOTS IN THE NORTHEAST OF BRAZIL

Agricola Famosa is located in the semi-arid region of the northeast of Brazil. From a supply chain perspective the production is ideally situated close to the Ports of Natal, Mucuripe & Pecém, the most modern industrial-port structure in the Northeast.

Agricola Famosa have consistently championed and implemented responsible farming practices: soil regeneration; pesticide reduction; sustainable water management; nature reserve; carbon emission reduction and renewable energy are only part of the story.  This environmentally attuned culture means that our parental production is ahead of schedule in becoming carbon neutral.
